Azimut Industries
Azimut Industries is a French design agency that specializes in producing smart lighting fixtures that offer sublime usability. The Azimut range contains a complete line of flexible spots. They are all similar in terms of design. Of course there are variations possible in color, type of lighting fixture (there are Azimut table lamps, wall lights, ceiling lights, etc.) and light source. Nevertheless, Azimut has built up a strong reputation thanks to this one design. It was Christian Girard who gave shape to the Azimut spotlights. He got his inspiration from commercial lighting. The General Electric PAR 36 lamp laid the basis for the mobile Azimut designs. The Azimut Il Mobile spots are ultra flexible and adjustable, they operate using a magnet which turns around a metal demisphere. This technique started the “tous azimuts” (all-out) revolution. The popularity of the spotlights accelerated in the beginning of the sixties. Hundreds of Azimuts spotlights were placed onto rail systems in stores and nightclubs in and around Paris.The Christian Girard motto
